Based on Harlan Coben’s most addictive novel, this new Netflix series is your best plan for the weekend

I can’t deny it, I’m a sucker for a good thriller, and if there’s one thing Netflix has proven in recent years, it’s that Harlan Coben’s stories have a hard-to-explain effect: you start watching an episode and, before you know it, you’ve spent half the nite trying to solve a mystery that seems to have no end. Now the platform is once again betting on one of the most successful suspense authors with “I Will Find You,” an eight-episode miniseries that brings together many of the ingredients that have turned his adaptations into true audience phenomena: family secrets, unanswered questions, and an investigation full of twists mark this new fiction starring Sam Worthington. Since he began his collaboration with Netflix, Harlan Coben has become one of the most profitable authors for the streaming giant. His novels have led to productions that have succeeded in various countries and share a common characteristic: it is practically impossible to put them down.

Titles like On the Run, Deceptions, Don’t Talk to Strangers, Stay by My Side, I Miss You, Safe, Into the Woods, starring Mario Casas, have managed to hook millions of viewers thanks to an effective combination of suspense, emotional drama, and unexpected revelations. I Will Find You maintains that same essence: disappearances, family relationships marked by pain, hidden identities, and constant plot twists. At the helm of the series is Sam Worthington, internationally known for portraying Jake Sully in the Avatar saga. This time he plays David Burroughs, a man willing to risk everything to uncover the truth and reclaim what he thot was lost forever: his freedom and his son. Alongside him appears Britt Lower, one of the most prominent actresses in recent years thanks to her work in Separation. Here she plays Rachel Mills, the protagonist’s ex-sister-in-law and a former successful journalist whose life fell apart after being fired. Now she sees in the case a unique opportunity to seek justice, which could also become her gateway back to journalism.

The cast is completed with names like Milo Ventimiglia, remembered for This Is Us and Gilmore Girls, who plays Hayden, Rachel’s ex-boyfriend. Logan Browning and Chi McBride also stand out, agents of the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force in Boston who will have to confront David’s escape. They are joined by Erin Richards, in the role of Cheryl, the protagonist’s ex-wife; Jonathan Tucker, as Adam, David’s childhood friend and police sergeant, who will be forced to choose between his personal loyalty and his job; Madeleine Stowe, who plays Gertrude, a wealthy heiress hiding a big secret; and Clancy Brown, who portrays Nicky, an old-school mobster, semi-retired with a surprising connection to the Burroughs family.
